Robert Pisani Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Law

Mr. Pisani specialized in international trade law for 40 years before retiring in 2019

After accruing more than 40 years of practiced expertise in international trade law, Mr. Pisani retired from the eponymous Pisani & Roll LLP in 2019. Over the years, he has represented clients in regards to customs enforcement proceedings, compliance reviews, and customs audits and trade security matters such as the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism. Additionally, he provided import compliance training at every major customs port of entry and presented more than 400 trade-related seminars around the world. Throughout his career, Mr. Pisani's clientele consisted of everyone from individuals and small- to medium-sized businesses to Fortune 500 companies. An expert in his field, Mr. Pisani also gained valuable legal expertise as a partner with the national law firm, Katten Muchin Rosenman.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Pisani excelled as a senior attorney at U.S. Customs Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he began in 1978. For more than 20 years, he assisted in the development and resolution of most major customs penalty cases. Mr. Pisani was also appointed as the principal agency spokesperson on the Customs Modernization Act.

In pursuit of his career in law, Mr. Pisani earned a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University in 1974. Subsequently, he graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from American University's Washington College of Law. Mr. Pisani was admitted to practice law through the Florida Bar and the District of Columbia Bar, as well as the Court of International Trade, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

In recognition of his professional excellence, Mr. Pisani was presented with the Commissioner of Customs Award in 1983 and 1999. He additionally completed Harvard University's Senior Executive Fellows Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1991. Looking toward the future, Mr. Pisani aims to operate an enterprise that contributes to the restoration of America's manufacturing powerhouse.
