EAGAN, MN, July 03, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles Gornick has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Celebrating nearly 40 years of specialist imaging and diagnostic practice, Dr. Gornick is one of Minnesota's top cardiologists. As a child, he aspired to follow the example of his town's local physician, and decided to pursue a career in medicine by the time he entered high school. Dr. Gornick holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Minnesota, and eventually returned to the university's Medical School for a Doctor of Medicine and a residency.

Dr. Gornick soon realized his interest in cardiology during clinical rotations, and found his first experience with ECG testing to be a shining moment. He subsequently completed fellowships in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology through the University of Minnesota Medical Center, earning board-certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease in the early 1980s, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology in 2002. Presently, Dr. Gornick maintains a clinical practice as a cardiac electrophysiologist through the Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, where he specializes on the diagnosis and management of arrhythmias, adult congenital heart disorders, and complex interventions, including aortic catheterization and device implantation.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gornick has earned a laudable reputation for research excellence. He is an affiliate of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, and his recent publications include case studies in pacemaker implantation in cases involving complex valve malformation and prior bioprosthetics placement. In recognition of his outstanding record of practice and contributions to the discipline, Dr. Gornick is recognized a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, the American Heart Association, and the American Heart Association. Moreover, in 1995, he was elected as the president of the American Heart Association's Minnesota affiliate, a role he considers to be one of his greatest accomplishments. Dr. Gornick attributes his success to his perseverance and continued intellectual fascination with the heart, and looks forward to transitioning out of clinical work and toward retirement within five years.
