James Sodon is renowned as an educator and a writer with more than 60 years of excellent service to his students and profession.

Mr. Sodon is renowned as an educator and a writer with more than 60 years of excellent service to his students and profession. Inspired by a dedicated high school English teacher, he decided to seek a career in education instead of his original passion, engineering. He initially pursued a formal education at William Jewell College, graduating in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts. Later earning a Master of Arts at the University of Arkansas in 1966, Mr. Sodon concluded his studies with postgraduate coursework at the University of Southern Illinois in 1971.

From 1964 to 1965, Mr. Sodon began his career as a teacher at North Platte High School in Dearborn, Missouri, before working for the Mehlville High School in Saint Louis from 1966 to 1967. He further flourished at Saint Louis Community College in a number of positions between 1967 and 2018, including as an instructor, a professor, the chair of the English department and a program director. Briefly teaching at Southern Illinois University during the 1970 to 1971 academic year, Mr. Sodon was additionally active on the adjunct faculty at Columbia College between 1974 and 2008.

Garnering professor emeritus status from Saint Louis Community College in 2018, Mr. Sodon has also excelled as the president of J. Sodon & Associates in Saint Louis since 1971. Moreover, he has produced four films, and is the editor of several works of fiction, including "Death by Lethal Affection" in 2016, and "Not Forgotten" in 2019. Furthermore, Mr. Sodon is a member of the National Education Association and the College Conference for Composition & Communication. He is also vice president of Bearhound7 Productions LLC.
