Maria Baan Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    ROCKY POINT, NY, July 10, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Maria Baan with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Baan celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Baan initially worked in the field of health care as a surgical nurse. After several years she began to work in the entertainment field, as acting was her other love. She also served as a set nurse and medical consultant. After securing several roles, she has worked as a set nurse in the entertainment industry. In the early 1980s, she was hired to play a hostage in Sylvester Stallone's film, "Nighthawks." Ms. Baan also played the role of Fran on HBO's "The Sopranos," and appeared on several other television shows.

Throughout the course of her career in acting, Ms. Baan has appeared in such films as Martin Scorsese's 1991 "Bringing Out the Dead," starring Nicolas Cage and John Goodman, and Golden Boy Promotions' "Golden Boy." Among numerous other parts, she excelled as a medical consultant on the Breaks LLC VH-1 film "The Breaks". Most recently, Ms. Baan was a guest host for numerous radio shows and a co-host for LifeStyle Radio's "Beauty Expert."

In 2019, Ms. Baan published her first book, "Are Miracles for Real? You Be the Judge" published by Universe Publishing Company. A collection of true stories, it is a celebration of her deep and abiding faith, as well as her belief in God's love for humanity. She is presently writing her story for a television series.

Outside of her professional career, Ms. Baan aspires to become more involved in nonprofit endeavors. She would especially enjoy working with those suffering from addiction or those who have become homeless. She volunteers her time at Lighthouse Mission, a mobile organization that distributes food and clothing to those in need. Among her professional memberships, Ms. Baan is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA and Local 52.

Ms. Baan became a Licensed Nurse and a Licensed Esthetician (skin care expert). In honor of her achievements in health care, Ms. Baan was recognized as a semi-finalist for Johnson and Johnson's Amazing Nurse of the Year Award.

In June 2020, Ms. Baan was a guest on the radio show "Over the Rainbow" with host Bob Brown from the U.K.
