John V. Frank Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    AKRON, OH, July 21, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John V. Frank with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Frank celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Mr. Frank embarked upon his long and fruitful career journey as a management trainee at the National City Bank of Cleveland in 1960. Joining the First National Bank in Akron in 1960, he remained involved in banking and finance for another 35 years, occupying such roles as an investment analyst and trust officer to vice president between 1970 and 1981. Mr. Frank subsequently presided over the Summit Capital Management Company from 1981 until 1998.

While maintaining his full-time commitments in banking, Mr. Frank also had the wonderful opportunity to serve as the president of the Button D. Morgan Foundation for three decades, concluding his role in 2006. For his efforts, he was subsequently named as a trustee emeritus in 2011. Located in Hudson, Ohio, the organization advocates for the entrepreneurial spirit, helping individuals of all ages create opportunities for themselves via education, experiences, civic activities and more.

Affiliated with over 30 nonprofit organizations throughout his career, Mr. Frank quickly learned the value of contributing prolifically to one's community. His grandmother was engaged in social work for many years and his father was the president of the Akron Children's Hospital and his local church. His brother was equally involved, volunteering his time locally, throughout the state and nationally with the Episcopal Church. Among Mr. Frank's many volunteer efforts, he was aligned with the Akron Rural Cemetery as the vice president between 1998 and 2006 and has remained active as a trustee since 1995 and the president since 2006. He has also been affiliated with the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, as a trustee since 2004 and treasurer since 2013, the Emergency Medical Service advisory board in Akron as its chairperson since 2010, and, among multiple other roles, the Akron Ohio Civil Service Commission as the chairperson since 2016.

Utilizing his professional skills, Mr. Frank has been active on numerous committees as well, including the Akron Community Foundation Investment Committee as a former advisor, the College of Wooster national capital campaign steering committee and the University of Akron finance and fiscal policy investment subcommittee. He is currently a trustee of The Howland Memorial Fund since 1974 and The Bowman Charitable Trust since 1992. To prepare for his career path, Mr. Frank studied at Babson College from 1956 to 1957, and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1960. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a first lieutenant between 1963 and 1969.

Among his numerous awards and recognitions for his nonprofit contributions, Mr. Frank recently received a Medal for Distinguished Service from the Millbrook School in 2016 and an Award of Distinction from Sister of Saint Dominic as Special Recognition for Service to the Our Lady of the Elms School in 2007. He was likewise bestowed with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rectory School in 2007, where he was instrumental in changing leadership to prevent the school from closing its doors. He served as president of the Akron Art Museum from 1979 to 1981. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Frank has been featured in close to 30 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World.
