Cynthia Armstrong has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Supported by a Doctor of Philosophy in education and administration, Dr. Armstrong has excelled as an educator, realtor, and entrepreneur.

JACKSON, MS, July 23, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cynthia Armstrong has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having accrued more than 30 years of professional experience in teaching, Dr. Armstrong notably pursued an additional career in real estate and business to supplement her skills as an educator and businesswoman. From 1988 to 2019, Dr. Armstrong found success as a public and private school teacher, school administrator and district office administrator. Dr. Armstrong obtained a real estate license in 2005, and today serves as a residential realtor, as well as the chief operations officer at Rivers Group LLC.

During her initial forays into academia, Dr. Armstrong notably earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and German and a Master of Arts in linguistics. She went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy in education and administration from Jackson State University in 1999, and is recognized as a Fulbright Teacher Scholar, having studied in Japan. Dr. Armstrong had aspired to serve an English teacher since her youth and, inspired by the example of her mother, a teacher in her own right, she felt the aptitude for the profession was deeply rooted in her family.

Though her career has been suffused with highlights, Dr. Armstrong is particularly proud to have been recognized as a Fulbright Teacher Scholar, and to have pursued postgraduate studies at such illustrious institutions as Oxford University, Harvard University, and Brown University. She is also gratified to have written a grant proposal for 5.2 million dollars for low-performing schools. While Dr. Armstrong served as a transition principal, the school completely transformed due to her unmatched drive, a highly qualified staff, parent involvement and community involvement. Hers was the own school in the district with its own student operated radio station. Hence, hers was the only school in Mississippi to receive the grant.

To remain aware of developments in her area of expertise, Dr. Armstrong maintains her professional alignment as member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Women for Progress, the American Association of University for Women, the National Association of Realtors and Learning Forward. In addition to her work, she is exploring opportunities to establish transition housing for the homeless and is active in her church. Looking ahead in her civic efforts, Dr. Armstrong aspires to observe how her community grows across all mediums in order to provide a quality lifestyle for all Jackson residents.
