A seasoned equipment operator with a proven record of accomplishment in the insurance industry, Mr. Akande excels as an associate with World Financial Group, where he provides a range of financial services, including long-term care and disability insurance, life insurance and funeral insurance. Since 1999, he has also excelled as a mail handler and equipment operator for the United States Postal Service. Before obtaining his current positions, Mr. Akande gained valuable expertise in finance as a senior manager for Nigerian Life and Provident Company, actuarial manager for Aijbola Ogunshola Actuarial and Pension Consultants (now Alexander Forbes Consultants) and marine insurance underwriter for Leadway Assurance Company Limited.
An expert in his field, Mr. Akande received an Associate of Arts from the Federal School of Arts and Science in Nigeria in 1974. Following this accomplishment, he completed a Bachelor of Science program in actuarial science from the University of Lagos in 1983 and was admitted to the Master of Science program in actuarial science at Temple University, Philadelphia, in the Spring of 1988. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the New Jersey Life Insurance Producers Association. Devoted to charitable contributions on behalf of his community, he earned distinction as the chairperson of the eldership committee at the Christ Apostolic Church. Over the years, Mr. Akande also volunteered his knowledge of life insurance services and served as a financial education secretary for the Actuarial Students Association.
Although his career has been suffused with highlights, Mr. Akande is especially proud of becoming a licensed life insurance producer in New Jersey, New York and North Carolina and obtaining various certifications through the Society of Actuaries. In accounting for his success, he credits his propensity for fearlessness and an abiding passion for his work.
