David G. Henry, Sr. authored "What Inventors Must Do and Must Not Do to Fully Protect Their Inventions, 11th Edition Primer on Patent Law" in 2020.

With decades of legal expertise to his credit, Mr. Henry excels as a patent, trademark and copyright litigation and transaction partner and IP litigation section chairman with Gray Reed and McGraw LC, which offers representation in intellectual property, employment, corporate and business entity structure, taxation, immigration, export control, energy and environmental regulation law. Since joining the aforementioned firm in 2012, he has helped domestic and international clients manage and protect intellectual property assets, and prosecuted patent infringement and trademark infringement claims. Apart from his work with Gray Reed and McGraw, Mr. Henry serves as a faculty advisor and part-time lecturer at Baylor University, the co-director of the United States Patent & Trademark Office's IP Clinic and an adjunct professor for Baylor University's School of Law.

Moreover, Mr. Henry has been active as the chief executive officer of Texess IP and Export Control Consulting and a pilot for Golden Eagle N690S. Over the years, he has also gained valuable professional experience as an equity partner for K&L Gates and Naman Howell Smith & Lee, an IP partner with Jenkens & Gilchrist and Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody and the vice chairman of the Military Child Education Coalition. Due to his extensive knowledge in the field, Mr. Henry has been recruited to speak at conferences and lectures and has also authored various articles, including "Getting IP Right: How to Avoid the Landmines that Trademarks, Copyrights and Patents Can Create," which was featured in Smart Business Magazine, "The Basics of Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights for Non-IP Attorneys" that was published through the State Bar of Texas and "Defensive Thinking in the Intellectual Property Realm," which was presented at the Texas Association of Defense Counsel Convention in 2000.

Registered as patent attorney with the United States Patent & Trademark Office and a patent agent through the Canadian Patent Office, Mr. Henry earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Baylor University in 1982. Subsequently, he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from his alma mater's School of Law in 1985. Mr. Henry remains aware of changes at his alma mater and in the field as a whole through his professional affiliation with the Baylor Alumni Association, the American Bar Association and Federal Circuit Bar Association.

Apart from his primary responsibilities, Mr. Henry has contributed to his community as a faculty advisor for Alpha Tau Omega and Delta Delta Delta. He has also completed service as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he authored "What Inventors Must Do and Must Not Do to Fully Protect Their Inventions, 11th Edition Primer on Patent Law" in 2020. In light of his outstanding accomplishments, he has accepted numerous recognitions for his work, including as the Outstanding Advisor of the Year, the Student Advocate Award and the Solid Gold Neighbor Award from Baylor University.
