Ms. Graham is renowned as a retired secondary school educator and sex education educator with more than 40 years of service to her credit. Holding a teaching credential in Nevada, she initially pursued an education at the University of Nevada, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1963. Ms. Graham was instrumental in the development of the sex education program for Washoe County Schools, which she considers to be the highlight of her career.
From 1963 to 1964, Ms. Graham began her career as a case aide for Catholic Social Services of San Francisco. She subsequently taught history and government for Sparks High School in Nevada from 1965 to 1967 and history for Carson City High School from 1968 to 1971. From 1983 to 1987, Ms. Graham further flourished as a middle school teacher at Saint Theresa's Catholic School in Carson City.
Serving as a 7th and 8th grade teacher for the Catholic School District from 1984 to 1985, Ms. Graham taught sex education for Washoe County Schools in Reno from 1988 until her retirement in 2003. Likewise, she has been active as an employee with Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church since 2005, providing marriage preparation and annulment counseling, as well as funeral preparation until her retirement in 2019 and served on two boards for the Diocese of Reno. Furthermore, Ms. Graham is a member of the National Education Association and the Washoe County Teachers' Association.
