Daniel Harris Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Leadership

Daniel Harris excels as the commander of the New York City Region County Drug Task Force as well as an adjunct professor with Mercy College since 2015.

    ANALOMINK, PA, July 29, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daniel Harris has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A born leader with 30 years of command and staff experience, Mr. Harris began his career in the military, advancing through the ranks from an officer to a lieutenant colonel over the course of 20 years of active duty. During this time, he served in numerous command and staff positions in New York, with the National Guard Bureau and in the Pentagon with the U.S. Department of Defense. Additionally, he remained active for more than thirty years with the New York Army National Guard. After his retirement, Mr. Harris established Muddy Boots Leadership LLC, a leadership development firm specializing in turning managers and supervisors into leaders.

Aside from his work with Muddy Boots Leadership, Mr. Harris excels as the commander of the New York City Region County Drug Task Force as well as an adjunct professor with Mercy College since 2015. A champion of education, he founded the Sierra Leone Children's Scholarship Fund to assist families of girls in Freetown, Sierra Leone regarding tuition, a program that is now in its fifth year and is funding more than 20 students. Eventually, Mr. Harris aims to build Hope School for junior and senior high school students based on a strong foundation of leadership and academics.

Due to his considerable leadership expertise, Mr. Harris authored the book "On Guard," which will be published in 2020. The book speaks to the fact that leaders exist in each and every one of us. In his writings, Mr. Harris defines the four pillars of leadership as "CLIP:" courage, love, integrity and passion.

In pursuit of his career, Mr. Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts in general studies from Columbia University in 1989. Subsequently, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in history from the City College of New York in 1999 and a Master of Science in business from Mercy College in 2015. In recognition of his military excellence, he has been honored many times, accepting the Legion of Merit in 2019, Defense Meritorious Service Medal from the Pentagon, the U.S. Army Bronze Star Medal in 2005, the Joint Service Commendation Medal in 2016 and the Legion of Merit for Service in 2019. Looking toward the future, Mr. Harris aims to experience the continued success of all his endeavors.
