Earlier in his career, Mr. Tong found success in the sciences as an earth science technical assistant at Northeastern Illinois University between 1984 and 1991.
In a career filled with highlights, Mr. Tong is especially proud of his nearly 30-year tenure with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, during which time he wrote a standard operating procedure for writing underground injection control permits. An expert in his field, he earned a Bachelor of Science in geology from University of Illinois at Chicago. Mr. Tong concluded his studies at Northeastern Illinois University with a Master of Science in earth science.
Due to his outstanding body of work, Mr. Tong has been recognized many times over the years. Notably, he has been presented with a Silver Medal and four Bronze Medals for exemplary work at the EPA. Within the coming years, Mr. Tong intends to enter a well-deserved retirement.
