PLEASANTON, CA, August 06, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert Henry Gast Jr. with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Gast celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having accrued more than three decades of inimitable expertise in his field, Mr. Gast has garnered a laudable reputation as a skilled engineer and manager with Steven Myers and Associates, a defense and aerospace consulting firm in southern California. Highly respected in his field, he formerly worked as an information technology security consultant in Pleasanton, California. Among numerous other significant roles, Mr. Gast found success with Lockheed Martin as Director of Reconnaissance and Intelligence Systems development programs and at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as an aerospace program manager, System Program Director of the U-2 program and electrical engineer of its Aeronautical Systems Division. In the latter capacity, he performed detailed technical planning for the airborne acquisition of telemetry signals from launch vehicles and spacecraft and flew on EC-135 aircraft during launch operations from Vanderberg AFB and Cape Kennedy.

He is also a former president and vice-president of Resurrection Lutheran Church congregation, having served between 1995 and 1999. Mr. Gast received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at the Ohio State University in 1970, followed by a Master of Business Administration at the University of Dayton in 1982. Privileged to serve as an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force between 1970 and 1977, he began as an instructor pilot in the T-38, and subsequently flew transport aircraft with the Air National Guard. Mr. Gast also notably excelled as a scientific and technical intelligence support officer between 1982 and 1998 with the Air Intelligence Agency as an Air Force reservist, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Mr. Gast drew inspiration from his father, who was a pilot during the Second World War, and recalls flying with his dad for the first time when he was just eight years old. He later graduated from the defense systems program management course while in residence at the Defense Systems Management College (now Defense Acquisition University) in 1988 and from the Air Command and Staff College in 1993. Years later, Mr. Gast returned to college, earning an Associate of Art degree in music at Las Positas College in 2010. Eminently qualified in his field, he is certified as an information systems security professional.

To support his career, Mr. Gast has been aligned with several pertinent organizations, including the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Radio Relay League. For his military service, he was recognized as an Outstanding Reservist of the Year by the Air Intelligence Agency in 1995.
