LAS VEGAS, NV, August 11, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lane Hartling has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A retired United States Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, Mr. Hartling is renowned as a solar energy utilities Construction Manager with more than 35 years of excellence in leadership and management. His career began in the early 1980s as a machine operator and a machinist at Morton Metal Craft. Subsequently, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1985, quickly becoming a Strategic Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, a KC-135A crew chief and an NKC-135A crew chief until 1995. Mr. Hartling subsequently served as a tanker crew chief and mid-shift flight line supervisor for an additional year before being appointed as the Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the KC-10 Support Section in 1996.
Mr. Hartling accepted a Special Duty Assignment as a Courier for the United States Department of Defense in 1998. From 1999 until 2003, he was active as the Detachment Chief of the Defense Courier Service Station at Travis Air Force Base. In 2004, Mr. Hartling cross-trained to become a C-5 Flight Engineer, advancing to the Flight Engineer Section Supervisor before being promoted to Squadron Superintendent of the 412th Flight Test Squadron, a post he would hold until his retirement from the United States Armed Forces in 2011.
Mr. Hartling was retired for only three weeks when his daughter suggested that he apply for a position with First Solar. Despite being new to the solar energy industry, his outstanding command of personnel management made him an ideal fit, and he was immediately hired as a civil and structural superintendent. In 2015, Mr. Hartling was recruited as a General Superintendent for Quanta Power Generation.
Mr. Hartling further refined his energy industry expertise as a Construction Manager on projects for the Ryan Company, REC Solar, OpTerra Energy Services and ENGIE Services U.S., before returning to First Solar in 2018 as a Construction Manager with nearly a decade of utilities-scale solar project construction management experience. He departed First Solar in 2019 for his current role with Progressive Global Energy. Dedicated to continuing education, Mr. Hartling has previously obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Construction Management from San Joaquin Valley College and an Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology and Aviation Operations from the Community College of the Air Force.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hartling has managed solar energy projects ranging in output from 589kW to 317MW, and his responsibilities have included comprehensive management of all aspects of a site, including safety, quality assurance, production and landowner liaisons. Looking toward the future, he hopes to position himself to become the Director of Construction for a large solar EPC firm, merging his specialist knowledge of the field with his broader talents in management and logistics. In his personal time, Mr. Hartling is a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association as well as a dedicated environmentalist and supporter of the World Wildlife Foundation.
