Likewise, she has also served as the chair of the aforementioned school's English department since 2018. Also active as a dual enrollment adjunct professor for English rhetoric and composition at Idaho State University since 2014, she previously contributed to the Idaho State Department of Education as the chairperson from 2013 to 2015 and the professional standards commissioner from 2009 to 2015. From 1985 to 1992, Ms. Henry began her career as an English teacher at Springville High School in Utah.

Prior to these positions, Ms. Henry pursued an education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1985. She later obtained a Master of Arts from the Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2004. Passionate about her career in education, Ms. Henry has been affiliated with the National Education Association, the Idaho Education Association and the Jefferson County Education Association, for which she was appointed as the president from 1996 to 1997 and from 2000 to 2002.

In light of her exceptional undertaking, Ms. Henry earned the Master Educator Premium Award from the Idaho State Board of Education in 2019 and the Teacher Preparation Award from the University of Idaho in 2003. Recognized as Teacher of the Year by the Rigby Chamber of Commerce in 2003, she has been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women. Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Henry enjoys gardening and maintaining her family's century family farm in her spare time.
