YAZOO CITY, MS, August 24, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present George Franklin Woodliff III with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Woodliff celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Woodliff, an attorney for nearly 20 years, perceived a call to the priesthood having been inspired by a series of phenomenal dreams which coincided with his life experiences. He left his successful legal career in order to study theology in England. Upon his return to the United States, he first served as chaplain at Mississippi State University in 1995 and then three years later he began serving as rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Yazoo City, Mississippi, where he continues to serve. The principal call on his life is to work toward the revival and unity of the Church.

Mr. Woodliff's esteemed career in legal services spanned from 1973 to 1991, during which he worked at his father's firm, Heidelberg and Woodliff in Jackson, Mississippi. He served for three years as an associate and later as a managing partner. Becoming an attorney was a passion he had aspired toward since high school, during which he earned distinction as a member of the debate team. He also earned second place at state finals, and was involved in youth congress. Likewise, in college, Mr. Woodliff was active in student government. Inspired by his father to follow a similar career path, his grandfather and several of his uncles were also prominent attorneys.

Outside of his full-time commitments at the church, Mr. Woodliff served as a founder and president of Stand Firm in Jackson, Mississippi, beginning in 2004. He also serves as a founder and president of the Yazoo City Ministerial Association since 2003 and a founder and chairman of Revive Yazoo since 2014. He is also the treasurer and an executive committee member of the American Anglican Council since 2014. Proudly supportive of his community, Mr.Woodliff is a member of the Gateway MAP Coalition in Yazoo City. He is also chaplain for the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Yazoo City.

Mr. Woodliff received a Bachelor of Business Administration, summa cum laude, at the University of Mississippi in 1970, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Virginia in 1973. He was admitted to practice law by the Mississippi Bar Association. Following his decision to pursue a life sworn to his faith, Mr. Woodliff later attained a Bachelor of Theology at Oxford University in England in 1995. He is also a member of Mensa and the fraternity Beta Theta Pi.

In 2004, Mr. Woodliff authored a paper for his diocese, "Rediscovering Christian Orthodoxy in Episcopal Anglicanism." He was recognized with a Yazoo Homeowners Religious Award in 2015. Moreover, Mr. Woodliff was also inducted to the University of Mississippi Hall of Fame, was named as the Man of the Year by the Yazoo Herald, and received a Humanitarian Award from the Yazoo City Chamber of Commerce.
