Ashley Knox, MPS Celebrated for Dedication to Student Enrichment

Ms. Knox lends years of expertise to her work with Go Beyond Greatness, Inc., a business initiative that aims to help youth and young adults to build better lives for the professional world



    KINGSTON, NY, August 25, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ashley Knox, MPS has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Inspired to motivate young people in their journey toward success, Ms. Knox began her career as the co-director of the Percussion Orchestra of Kingston at the Center for Creative Education in 2000. She also worked as co-producer of the Kingston Boys and Girls Club Positive Kids TV program in partnership with Kingston's Public Access TV Station in Kingston, NY. Subsequently, she worked as a Spanish teacher at Catskill High School between 2007 and 2008. With practiced expertise in public speaking, curriculum development, business project management and marketing, she transferred to the university system, flourishing as a professional academic tutor for SUNY Ulster County Community College from 2009 to 2011 and as a program counselor for the Center for Youth Development at SUNY Orange County Community College between 2011 and 2013. Ms. Knox gained valuable expertise as a NYS Higher Education Opportunity Program retention coordinator for Mount Saint Mary College, where she also served as the director of the Office of International Programs and the college's principal designated school official of the Student and Exchange Visitors Program at Mount Saint Mary College, 2013-2017. More recently, served as the Interim Coordinator for Academic Civic and Global Engagement at Iona College 2018-2019.

Since 2014, Ms. Knox has drawn upon her considerable knowledge as the founder and executive director of Go Beyond Greatness, Inc. A NYS certified educational consulting firm designed to support students to develop the skills and "greatness mindset" needed to succeed in the 21st century with an emphasis on college and career readiness. Her career is full of highlights and Ms. Knox is especially proud of being recognized as a New York State Minority Women Business Enterprise designated in 2017 and NYC Minority Women Business Enterprise designated in 2018.

An expert in her field, Ms. Knox initially earned an Associate of Arts in Spanish language and literature from SUNY Ulster. She concluded her academic efforts at SUNY New Paltz, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and black studies, a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a Master of Professional Studies in humanistic and multicultural education. Moreover, Ms. Knox is a Motivational Speaker with a mission to empower young people to become great leaders of tomorrow. Ms. Knox spoke at the 2020 NYS Association of Training and Employment Professionals (NYATEP), Youth Practitioner's Conference with an inspired TED Talk entitled "BELIEVE: Empowering Youth in Times of COVID 19." Ms. Knox was the guest speaker for the Girls' Leadership Worldwide graduation ceremony at Eleanor Roosevelt Center in Val Kil, NY; 2017. She also was keynote speaker for 2016 Association of NYS Youth Bureau Annual Directors Conference, entitled "Why The World Needs our Greatness" Ashley also spoke at the 3rd Annual Climate Solutions Summit at SUNY Paltz. More recently, Ms Knox and her work was recognized by Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan as a model of what it takes to build the next generation in Ulster County recognized in his State of the County Address, January 2020.

Ms. Knox serves as Board of Trustee for the Community Foundation of the Hudson Valley, supporting long-term sustainability throughout the Hudson Valley, NY. Her love for environmental sustainability, lead her to become a Board Member for the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, contributor to keeping Pete Seeger's legacy alive. She retains her professional alignment with The Association of Junior League –Kingston Chapter. She also contributes to the protection and preservation of land as a Thought Partner for the Kingston Land Trust. Backed by her extensive professional knowledge and experiences, she has been the subject of several online articles, including "Ashley Knox: College Administrator/Activist," which was featured in Upstarter Magazine, and "Program helps students find their greatness," which discusses the importance of her Go Beyond Greatness initiative. Ashley has received numerous awards including the 2018 YWCA of Ulster County Tribute to Women. In the coming years, Ms. Knox intends to become an international motivational speaker and establish a platform where she can reach more people and motivate them to go beyond their greatness.
