After serving in private practice for four years, Dr. Peveto accepted an opportunity to work at the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1990. He took on several other exciting assignments, but he eventually returned to the Academy where he currently excels as a staff physician, a position in which he manages the basic health care for cadets and cares for active duty fliers. Over the years, he has also gained valuable expertise in his field. Although his career has been filled with numerous highlights, including serving as the team physician for the Academy Falcon Football Team, Dr. Peveto is most proud of helping his patients achieve and maintain excellent health over the years.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Peveto earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Additionally, he obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas at Houston. In order to keep up to date with changes in the field, Dr. Peveto is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, an Associate Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association, and a 35-year member of the American Medical Association.
In recognition of his professional excellence, Dr. Peveto has been honored many times, including as a Distinguished Graduate of Air Force Flight Surgeons in 1990. He was selected as the Academy Command Flight Surgeon of the Year Award in 1992, and awarded the Air Force Aerial Achievement Medal in 1999. After the turn of the century, he was presented with a Recognition Award from the American Academy of Family Physicians, a Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Chief Flight Surgeon Wings, and several Physician Recognition Awards from the American Medical Association. Looking toward the future, Dr. Peveto looks forward to experiencing continued growth and success of his career.
