LARGO, FL, September 01, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dean M. Knoblach has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dean M. Knoblach, BC-HIS, Nationally Board-Certified Hearing Specialist and founder of Knoblach Hearing Care, has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in audiology.
In 1985, after earning his degree in Computer Technology and accepting a job with Canon, Dean had a chance encounter with Jerry Maas, a former President of Starkey Labs (the largest hearing aid manufacturer in America).
Dean recalls: "I have been hearing impaired in my left ear since I was seven. I told Jerry that I can relate to what it's like. No one wants to buy a hearing aid. They just want to hear normally again."
Jerry told Dean that he missed his calling and recommended he change his career from repairing photocopiers to audiology. Jerry even helped pay for Dean's schooling.
As it turned out, Jerry was right. Four months after Dean started his new career at Sound 2000 Medical, he was promoted to Senior Level Specialist and put in charge of training eight other specialists (some who had been there for years). Over the next three years Dean opened his own private practice, Lakeview Hearing Care, and rewrote much of the protocol for hearing aid dispensing based on a simple philosophy – Don't try to sell them hearing aids, help them to hear normally again. If that means only removing ear wax, or readjusting their current hearing aid, that's what you do. And if you always take care of your patient's needs, their referrals will take care of your business.
In 1990 Bill Austin (owner and founder of Starkey Labs) asked Dean to compile some of the new dispensing protocols he had developed. In 1991 Dean published a six-cassette program titled Strategies for Top Performers.
By the fall of 1992 Dean became a Nationally Board-Certified Hearing Specialist and his work had caught the attention of others, which spawned a private consulting career. Full-day seminars for Miracle Ear, Hearing Centers of America, HEARx and the International Hearing Society became a monthly routine.
In 1995 Dean sold his Minnesota practice and moved to Florida to become the National Training Director for HEARx (Hear USA) and, later, became a regional training director for Beltone.
Dean recalls: "Being center stage while training doctors and other hearing specialists is an honor, for sure, but that proud feeling pales in comparison to witnessing firsthand the sheer joy on a veteran's face when the ringing stops and he can finally hear normally again. That's not just another sale adding to some corporation's coffers, that's changing someone's life."
In 1998 Dean founded Knoblach Hearing Care and has since received many Patient Care and Customer Satisfaction awards over the years, including 2012 Best in Audiology by the Hearing Review, as well as Angie's List Hearing Healthcare Super Service Award every year from 2014 to present. While Dean specializes in tinnitus management (ringing ears) and hard-to-fit cases, he performs every initial hearing examination personally.
Dean Knoblach and Knoblach Hearing Care are in Largo, Florida (knoblachhearingcare.com).
