HOUSTON, TX, September 09, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jammy M. Kiggundu has been selected in Marquis Who's' Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Accomplishments such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Initially, Mr. Kiggundu wanted to pursue a career in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In pursuit of this venture, he began shadowing a field agent, who later became his mentor. He then learned that if he pursued a law degree, he would have a better chance of being accepted into the agency. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of New Mexico, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of New Mexico's School of Law.
After receiving his law degree, Mr. Kiggundu went into private practice instead of pursuing a career with the FBI. He then served as General Counsel for a healthcare management system before becoming a partner at Douglass & Kiggundu PLLC. Mr. Kiggundu is also a member of the Houston Bar Association's Entertainment and Sports Law section, where he has been elected section Chairman on two separate occasions, Treasurer and also Secretary.
In addition to his primary work in law, Mr. Kiggundu is a public speaker and social advocate; he travels the country giving speeches, media interviews and has even officiated several weddings. He has partnered with and is a spokesperson for organizations such as Crime Stoppers of Houston. He also serves as an officer in a production company which produces live events, scripted and unscripted content. He previously served as president of Mutual Mortgage Group, LLC and was an advisory board member of T.I.C. Imaging, LLC. Mr. Kiggundu holds licenses as an Attorney, Mortgage Broker and Sports Agent through the National Basketball Association.
Mr. Kiggundu has received numerous accolades including the Top 100 Award from the National Black Lawyers Association as well as the Lawyers of Distinction Award. He has also been recognized among Houston's "Top 100 Lawyers" in Houstonia Magazine. However, one of his proudest career moments was when he had the opportunity to work as lead counsel on a monumental entertainment case. The case is widely considered the blueprint in Texas for litigating an idea submission claim on an oral contract. After his work on this case, Mr. Kiggundu has been invited to speak on various panels to educate lawyers, judges and content creators on similar matters.
Mr. Kiggundu has attributed his professional success to his family, who provided him with a foundation based on education, hard work and belief. Outside of work, he serves as board member of the As One Foundation and previously served on the organizing committee of the Leukemia Society Celebrity Golf Tournament in Houston. Looking toward the future, he plans to become a published author, expand entertainment production, and start a streaming entertainment company where he can help others express their creativity.
