After moving to New York from Sicily in the late 1970's, Mr. Vitale began working in his uncle's bakery, which cemented in him a love for cooking. For more than 40 years, he channeled that love into working in a pizzeria as a pizza chef. In 2002, Mr. Vitale established Joe's Pizza, which he successfully operated for three years before selling half of the restaurant to open a second pizzeria under the same name on King's Highway in Brooklyn.

Upon making a name for himself in New York, Mr. Vitale moved to Los Angeles to bring "a taste of New York" to the West Coast in 2007. Beloved by Los Angeles and New York natives alike, he has since expanded Joe's Pizza into locations on the Sunset Strip, West Hollywood, throughout Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles and Sherman Oaks. Devoted to his community, he is affiliated with the local Chamber of Commerce. Looking toward the future, Mr. Vitale aims to experience the continued success of Joe's Pizza.
