Admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland, Mr. Hahn has handled cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth and District of Columbia Circuits, the federal courts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and numerous other states. He is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Hahn has also practiced in the States of New York and Texas.
Notably, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics, with distinction, from Stanford University from 1975 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Stanford Law School from 1979. During his undergraduate and law studies, he spent a year studying German in Stuttgart and working for a professor at the European University Institute in Florence. He speaks German, Italian and Spanish.
Prior to spearheading his own law firm, Mr. Hahn served as a partner with Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis from 2005 to 2013, Hahn, Kyle & Hollrah from 1996 to 2005, Littler Mendelson PC from 1986 to 1996 and the in-house law department for Exxon Corporation from 1979 to 1986.
A fourth generation lawyer, Mr. Hahn was inspired to pursue a career in the field of law by his familial background, reaching back to 1899 when his great grandfather and great-great uncle formed Hahn & Hahn, a law firm that is still operating under the same name after 120 years in Pasadena, California. He was motivated by his father and grandfather's excitement, energy and enthusiasm about the legal profession, remembering dinner table conversations as resembling English judges discussing a case at the Inns of Court.
Representing two of Washington's most important health care organizations that provide services to underserved patient populations and to children with special needs has been among his most rewarding experiences as a lawyer.
