Originally driven to become a family doctor, Dr. Baig pursued psychiatry during her residency, which has since led to a successful and fulfilling 30-year career in the Las Vegas area. Today, she excels in private practice and as the medical director and a psychiatrist of Nevada Psychiatric Clinic, both since 1996. She is also a psychiatric instructor at Touro University Nevada and a visiting instructor for Regis College. Additionally she will serve as a preceptor for 31 hours in Spring 2020 for Sanford University School of Nursing. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a psychiatrist with the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, now defunct, and Austin State Hospital.
Outside of her work as a psychiatrist, Dr. Baig established the Islamic Information Center after the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks in response to her patients' requests, which is now associated with Masjid Al Noor and serves as a mosque for the local Muslim community. At the center, she is blessed to serve as a resource for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, welcoming all to their weekly lectures and meetings.
After earning a Bachelor of Medicine from Sind Medical College in 1980, Dr. Baig completed residencies in adult psychiatry through the University of Nebraska and Austin State Hospital, as well as a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry through the Baylor College of Medicine.
In light of her professional achievements, Dr. Baig has been honored as a Top Psychiatrist since 2017 and as one of America's Best Physicians in 2017, 2019 and 2020. Additionally, she was honored as a Woman of Distinction in 2017 and a Woman of Empowerment in 2019.
