Subsequently, he joined the faculty of the prestigious Dean McGee Eye Institute at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City as a Professor of Ophthalmology and Medical Director of Clinical Operations. Dr. Patel also serves as a board examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and has also been an examiner with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Specializing in neuro-ophthalmology, Dr. Patel has offered his expertise to several professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin. In his present position, he provides clinical care for patients with neuro-ophthalmic disorders. Throughout his career, Dr. Patel has been most proud of his ability to manage one of the busiest neuro-ophthalmology clinics in the country while maintaining a solid teaching and research record.
