While attending Texas Barber College, Mr. Wilson soon realized that the skills he would acquire studying cosmetology would provide an excellent pathway for him to capitalize on the lucrative beauty industry. He began his career as a professional hairstylist in 1985. An entrepreneur at heart, he was not satisfied working for someone else and quickly began looking for opportunities to open his own salon. Mr. Wilson purchased his first salon, located in North Dallas, in 1996.
After 15 years of ownership, Mr. Wilson sold his first salon and began working as a hairstylist in a local salon suite. Frustrated with the salon suite's design and management, he quickly developed plans to open his own salon suite concept, catering to the Dallas Metroplex's most discerning stylist.
Along with his wife and business partner, Becca, Mr. Wilson opened the first location of City Salon Suites & Spa in Plano Texas in January of 2013. His second location opened in Rockwall in August of 2015, his third in Frisco in September of 2016 and his fourth in North Dallas in July of 2018. His fifth location will open in Dallas (Inwood @ Maple) in November of 2020 and his sixth in Prosper in Spring of 2021. Mr. Wilson also does consulting for other salon owners looking to invest in salon suites.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wilson has combined his extensive cosmetology experience with his business savvy to provide a salon environment unmatched in the region. He attributes his professional success to his attention to detail, hard work, and determination.
Outside of his primary work and family responsibilities, Mr. Wilson supports multiple charities that support under resourced children in Texas and Mexico. Looking toward the future, his plans include continuing the expansion of his salon suite business in Texas and across the United States.
