Thomas Skulan Celebrated for Dedication to the Comic Book Industry

Mr. Skulan established FantaCo in 1978 just shortly after earning his undergraduate degree in New York



    LELAND, NC, October 01, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas Skulan has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. A lifelong lover of comic books, Mr. Skulan founded FantaCo Enterprises LLC in August of 1978. In the more than 40 years since its establishment, the aforementioned company has licensed magazines, graphic novels, books, clothing, toys, conventions and movies involving their intellectual properties. Furthermore, Mr. Skulan has published various books and comic books, including the "Night of the Living Dead" comic book, "Deep Red" and "Gore Shriek."

Additionally, Mr. Skulan holds the copyrights and trademarks for more than 200 publications, titles and characters. In his role as the president of FantaCo, he scours the world for artists and writers with which to collaborate, works with graphic designers to design publications and manages the daily operations of the company. Before establishing FantaCo, Mr. Skulan excelled in the field of education as an art teacher with Carmel Central Schools.

Throughout his career, Mr. Skulan has also gained valuable professional expertise in the business and finance industries as the owner of Perfect Transaction, which offered CDs, CD box sets, DVDs and related collectibles between 2001 and 2014. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he served as the manager of Emerald Skies Group, where he provided performance-based financial management services for Internet brokerage accounts. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Mr. Skulan co-authored the comic magazine Smilin' Ed with the series creator, Raoul Vezina, while participating in editorial capacities for "Gore Shriek" and "FantaCo's Chronicles Series."

In 1977, Mr. Skulan earned a Bachelor of Science in art education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. A collector by nature, he retains his other collecting alignments with the Canadian Numismatic Association and the American Numismatic Association. For his outstanding work in the field, he was honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as a feature in the 26th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry. Looking toward the future, Mr. Skulan intends to experience the continued success of his career as he parlays his love of the comic book industry to his patrons.
