Ms. Robbins is a tenured speech educator at the Buckley School of Public Speaking in Camden, South Carolina, who has found success through her position since 1998. She is also a talented freelance artist, having taught and directed theatre and dance for many years. Working for close to 60 years, some of her other noteworthy roles have included teaching appointments at Charleston Southern University, the University of North Carolina and Newberry College, serving as a guest choreographer for ABC and as a television host. Additionally, she enjoyed more than 25 years as a theatre director, producer, and choreographer at various local theatres and playhouses, including nearly two decades as the Artistic Director at Town Theatre in Columbia between 1979 and 1997.

Blending her expertise with her community, Emmalee Robbins has traveled throughout the state with her students performing at area hospitals, churches, and civic events. Her particularly skillful players had the good fortune of performing for General James Doolittle. Emmalee has also volunteered teaching character education to students at Lugoff Elementary School in Lugoff, South Carolina through the Carolina Care Plan between 2002 and 2003.

A prolific author, Emmalee Elizabeth Robbins has contributed 9 books for children with her longtime colleague, Dr. Dick Goodwin, who composed the music. The "All Aboard: The Lighthouse Learning Express" series was designed for teachers, and parents to read with their students and children, and to encourage them to continuously learn. Among other works, she has authored, directed, and produced numerous plays, and was involved in the original musical theatre productions of "Showstoppers Express at the Rivoli Theatre and "Christmas in Carolina" with Dr. Goodwin.

Having received a Bachelor of Arts in speech and drama at Columbia College in 1963, Emmalee became a certified teacher in 1965. She later undertook graduate coursework at The Citadel between 1968 and 1969 before acquiring a Master of Fine Arts in theatre at the University of North Carolina in 1977. Ms. Robbins subsequently studied theatre and Emmalee Elizabeth Robbins has been aligned as a member of the South Carolina Theatre's Association in support of her career. She is also a member of the Daughters of American Colonists and Alpha Psi Omega. Well regarded for her incredible accomplishments, she was named Speech Teacher of the Year by the South Carolina Speech Associations at its annual convention in 1972 and was later bestowed with a Career Achievement Award at Columbia College in 1990. Most notably Emmalee won the International Emissary for Tobacco from the Tobacco Institute through the U.S. Agricultural Society.
