Bradley S. Hartman has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Bradley S. Hartman has found the perfect balance between teaching, conducting, composing and raising a family

RIDGE, NY, October 16, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bradley S. Hartman has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Growing up in a very creative family, Bradley S. Hartman admired his parents, aunts and uncles, who were all educators. His family always stressed the importance of education when he was young. He started playing the piano at 4 years old, and in the fifth grade, he played the trombone and developed a love for jazz. By the time he entered high school, he had begun composing and was later able to perform one of his compositions at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland with his university group. Mr. Hartman went on to receive a bachelor's degree in music education from Long Island University, a Masters of Arts in Liberal Studies from Stony Brook University, and a Masters of Music in Wind Conducting from Messiah University. He also holds a New York State professional teaching certification in music.

For 11 years, Mr. Hartman has served as a band director, composer, conductor and educator. He currently serves as the band director at Bellport High School. In his career, he has also worked as an independent composer and wrote over twenty compositions, three of them published by T.U.X. People's Music, as well as a commissioned piece for the Smithtown Community Band. His score was also included in a 50-year time capsule. In his community, he offers workshops and presentations to youth. Over the years, he has been most proud of being invited to present at a statewide conference in New York and at an international music educators' summit. Mr. Hartman has attributed his professional success to his parents, who were exceptional role models. In addition, he was grateful for his high school teachers who served as mentors. Finally, he has received continued support from his wife, who is also a music teacher. Mr. Hartman maintains professional affiliation with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers; the National Association for Music Education; the New York State Band Directors Association; and the New York State School Music Association. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hartman hopes to continue teaching and composing more actively. He would also like the opportunity to conduct honor bands at the state or county level.
