TUCSON, AZ, October 16, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Da'Mond T. Holt has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In his career, Da'Mond T. Holt wanted to create more phases of healing so that younger generations could have better experiences in life. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in theology from the FGCC Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in mental health from Trinity International University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from Trinity International University. He began his career as a certified traumatologist for the Lemons to Lemon-Aide Project. Dr. Holt is currently working at the Metropolitan State University Western Educational Equity Assistance Center. In his current position, he conducts neuroscientific research on how trauma impacts the brain. He also promotes loving relationships to rewire the brain for stimulation, growth and healthy executive functioning and helps educators understand how trauma impacts children. He also does background work for psychologists and clinicians to help them in their practice.

As a dedicated professional, Dr. Holt has been most proud of the work he did with a trauma survivor who came from a single-parent household in Flint, Michigan. He went through an underfunded school and faced crime, drugs, violence and murder in his neighborhood. By the time Dr. Holt was working with him, many of his childhood friends were dead or in prison. However, instead of becoming a product of his environment, he was able to rise above his situation due to healthy relationships, resources and the support of people around him. Dr. Holt has worked with leading experts in the field who are committed to the growth of this evolving science. He has worked with children from the most underfunded school district in Tucson who struggled with fighting, poor academics and overwhelmed staff. For his efforts over the years, he was presented with the Whitney Young Civil Rights Award.

Dr. Holt has attributed his professional success to his faith. He maintains professional affiliation with the Tucson Urban League, the Tucson Mayoral Race Equity & Justice Advisory Council and the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Tucson. Looking toward the future, Dr. Holt plans to write books and curriculum in the field of trauma. He hopes to make an impact on the world as an African American traumatologist.
