With 20 years of expertise to his credit, Mr. Jeffers initially began his professional ventures by accumulating experience at multiple capacities with various finance, insurance and energy organizations. Between 2000 and 2007, he worked as a treasury manager, customer service representative, tow truck operator and field claims representative. Subsequently, he contributed to Chesapeake Energy, Warwick Energy, and Continental Land Resources LLC as a landman and district landman from 2007 to 2016. Although he proved himself as a dedicated worker to all of his employers, he felt unfulfilled and desired a career change. As he consistently harbored a penchant for law throughout his formative years, he resolved to pursue a future as an attorney.
Prior to his success, Mr. Jeffers initially enrolled at Oklahoma Christian University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 2000. Consequently, he earned a Master of Business Administration in international business from the University of Toledo in 2003. Following his decision to return to his studies, Mr. Jeffers obtained a Master of Science in energy legal studies from Oklahoma City University in 2013. By 2019, he concluded his educational endeavors after attaining his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Toledo.
Regarding his legal capabilities, Mr. Jeffers has been admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He also retains membership with the Federal Bar Association, the Toledo Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association, among several other organizations. Moreover, he secured a professional research certification through LexisNexis in 2017. He is currently awaiting the results of the Ohio Bar Exam, which he took on October 5-6, 2020.
Throughout his legal tenure, Mr. Jeffers served as a student account representative at LexisNexis and a certified legal intern through the University of Toledo College of Law. Currently, he excels as an associate attorney at Godfroy, Wetzel & Horkey, PLC, a position he has held since 2018. In this capacity, he specializes in cases concerning criminal law, family law, probate law, real estate law, commercial law and civil litigation. A dedicated individual, he continues to take on new casework and maintained a persistent workflow despite the coronavirus pandemic.
As a testament to his efforts, Mr. Jeffers was inducted into the Advanced Leadership Academy through the College of Business and Innovation. Most notably, he participated on the University of Toledo Moot Court teams at New York University and in Beijing, China. As a result of his efforts, he was bestowed the Order of the Barristers Award through the University of Toledo College of Law.
