SILVER SPRING, MD, October 20, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present David B. Dorsey with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Dorsey celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Now retired, Mr. Dorsey spent much of his career representing Manna Inc., a nonprofit housing authority in Washington, D.C., as the company's chief financial officer between 1996 and 2012 and as director of administration between 1989 and 1995. Proud to be a part of the organization, his main responsibilities as CFO included managing and structuring finances to provide low-income families with housing. Serving this section of the community throughout Washington was a career highlight for him. Helping minorities receive equal access and achieve their goals of homeownership was extremely rewarding.

Mr. Dorsey formerly gained expertise with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in Washington as an executive director and with the Bar Association of D.C. as an assistant executive director. He also did consulting work for the U.S. Agency for International Development and consulted for the World Bank, where he was charged with conducting evaluations of the agricultural estate sector of Malawi. Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Dorsey served in several capacities for the Food and Drug Administration in Maryland after college.

Highly educated, Mr. Dorsey received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics at the University of Michigan in 1962. He then served two years in the U.S. Peace Corps between 1962 and 1964 teaching mathematics in West Africa before completing a Master of Business Administration at Harvard Business School in 1966. While pursuing his master's degree, Mr. Dorsey had the opportunity to do an internship in a federal management position with the government. His interest in government work, combined with his coursework in financial management, helped him combine the two after college so that he could find a rewarding career that incorporated both.

A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Dorsey has been featured in over 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, and Who's Who in the East.
