Barbara Rinella Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    KENILWORTH, IL, October 20, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Barbara Rinella with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Rinella celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Rinella's career as a book reviewer and dramatist began in Chicago in 1979. Hired to deliver her first book talk at the Women's Athletic Club after another speaker had cancelled, she was so well regarded that she soon received five more engagements and her popularity continued to evolve. Ms. Rinella formerly worked in education, teaching English at Needham High School in Needham, Massachusetts, and at New Trier High School in Northfield, Illinois. She also contributed for a brief time as a guidebook editor for the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, an assistant editor for Putman Public Company in Chicago and a researcher for Mademoiselle Magazine in Chicago.

Extensively involved in various civic endeavors throughout her career, Ms. Rinella volunteered her time with United Way, the Boy Scouts of America as a troop leader, the Girl Scouts of America as a variety show coordinator, and, among other organizations, PAWS Chicago as a member of the development board. She also coached Wilmette Girls Softball in Wilmette, Illinois, the Kenilworth Little League Baseball in Kenilworth, Illinois, and was involved on various boards at Duke University. Ms. Rinella has continued to volunteer through her parish, Kenilworth Union Church, since 1979.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Rinella received a Bachelor of Arts at Duke University in 1965. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she earned distinction as a Duke cheerleader, where she participated in two Final Four championship games. Ms. Rinella was subsequently accepted to the University of Michigan where she completed a Master of Arts in 1966.

Recognized by her alma mater with an Outstanding Volunteer Award in 1988, Ms. Rinella also received a Woman of Distinction in the Arts Award from the Girl Scouts of America in 1997. She has also earned a Best Lecturer Rating from Crystal Cruises every year between 1998 and 2006, a Breast Cancer Heroine Award from BMW in 1999 and a Visions of Hope Award from AstraZeneca in 2003. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Rinella has been cited in the 55th through 60th editions of Who's Who in America, the 19th and 21st editions of Who's Who in the World, and the 23rd edition of Who's Who of American Women.
