Mr. Johnson was a leading lawyer who maintained his own successful practice in Denver for numerous years. An expert in wills and estate planning, criminal law, and bankruptcy law, he served the public with the utmost professionalism for more than four decades. During the length of his incredible career, he spent much of his time in the courtroom. Possessed of a perfect record, Mr. Johnson proudly defended minorities since the beginning of his career, and never once lost a jury trial.

Fascinated with politics since coming of age, Mr. Johnson was notably a Democratic candidate for the Colorado Attorney General. He was also a Democratic committee member and a political adviser for the campaign to elect Mitch Morrissey as Denver's district attorney. Mr. Johnson also spent several years in the classroom as a lecturer at the University of Colorado.

A prolific writer, Mr. Johnson covered many legal topics in his area of expertise, as well as his own genealogical background. Some of his works have included "Matrimonial Practice in Colorado Courts" in 1969, "The American Heritage of James Norman Hall" in 1970, "Letters to Glenn Doman: A Story on Enriched and Accelerated Childhood Development" in 1980, "Super Kids & Their Parents" in 1986 and, among others, "The Ancestry of Anthony Morris Johnson," which was the story of his great grandfather and included 12 volumes between 1989 and 2016. In addition to his books, Mr. Johnson was published in various local newspapers.

A leader in the community, Mr. Johnson was a member of the Duke of Gloucester Society's Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a private, nonprofit educational institution in Virginia. He also served as a mentor in the Sturm College of Law at his alma mater, the University of Denver. Likewise, Mr. Johnson earned distinction as an interviewer for the Yale Alumni, and a parent connector for Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Born and raised in Denver, Mr. Johnson graduated as the valedictorian of his high school class and received a full scholarship to the prestigious Yale University. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1955, he studied at the University of Denver, where he attained both a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1958 and a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1963. Mr. Johnson was admitted to practice law by the Colorado Bar Association, the U.S. District Court of Colorado, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

To support his illustrious legal career, Mr. Johnson was a member of the American Bar Association, the American Judicature Society and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He was also very active as a member of the Denver Bar Association, where he served on several prestigious committees. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Johnson was featured in the 25th and 26th editions of Who's Who in the West and a recent edition of Who Was Who in America, volume 26.
