A leader in his field, Mr. Daugherty has found success as the president and the owner of Reinhardt Construction Company, a general contracting firm in central Missouri, since 1985, after having served the company as a partner from 1980 to 1985 and a project manager between 1970 and 1980. The chairperson of the Builders' Association since 2013, he previously excelled as a member of the organization's executive board since 2008 and the board of directors since 2006. Notably, Mr. Daugherty was a member of the Apprenticeship Fund Committee of the Ironworkers Local 396 from 1986 until 2006 and a management trustee on the Bricklayers Pension Fund between 1985 and 2008.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Mr. Daugherty pursued an education at the University of Missouri, earning a Bachelor of Science in wood products and construction in 1970. He met his wife, Mary, during this time, and they have been married since 1969. Beyond his primary endeavors, Mr. Daugherty contributes his time and expertise as a member of the Builders' Association Political Action Committee since 2009, and a trustee of Columbia College since 1989.
The president of the Kansas City chapter of Associated General Contractors of America from 1997 to 1998, Mr. Daugherty remained active with the Columbia Rotary Club and the First Christian Church of Columbia. In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments throughout his career, he was presented with the Project of the Year Award from the Builders' Association since 2007. Looking toward the future, Mr. Daugherty intends to continue to uphold the legacy of his mentor, Mr. Reinhardt.
