Sydney Schoensee Recognized for Leadership in Physical Therapy

Ms. Schoensee celebrates nearly 35 years of excellence in physical therapy



    MCCALL, ID, October 23, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sydney Schoensee has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As a high school athlete, Ms. Schoensee suffered an injury, leading her to rehabilitate through physical therapy. This experience inspired her to pursue a career as a physical therapist later in life. She subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Science in physical therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and transitional doctorate in physical therapy from Evidence in Motion. She is also a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Ms. Schoensee is also board certified as a sports and orthopedic clinical specialist.

In her career, Ms. Schoensee has served as a physical therapist at various institutions such as Saint Mary's Hospital, Dean Medical Center, Baptist Medical Center, Marian Medical Center, Sport, Spine & Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center and Intermountain Orthopedics, among others. She currently excels as a physical therapist at St Luke's Rehabilitation, for which she also mentors advanced physical therapists and serves as Faculty in their sports medicine physical therapy residency program. Ms. Schoensee also found success for several years as an adjunct faculty member and a clinical mentor with Evidence in Motion and Bellin College.

Over the years, Ms. Schoensee has focused on rehabilitation of orthopedic and sports-related injuries for all ages. As a dedicated physical therapist, she helps and empowers patients to maximize function, decrease pain and improve movement to be able to return to the activities they enjoy. As a respected voice in her field, Ms. Schoensee co-authored "A Novel Approach to Treatment for Chronic Avulsion Fracture of the Ischial Tuberosity in Three Adolescent Athletes: A Case Series," published in 2014.

As a graduate student, Ms. Schoensee was nominated for the Best New Researcher Award for the Orthopedic section. She received at Caring Angel Award at Saint Luke's Rehabilitation. Ms. Schoensee has attributed her professional success to her perseverance, curiosity and a passion for the field.

Civically, Ms. Schoensee has been active with the nominating committee for the Idaho chapter of Physical Therapy. She maintains her professional affiliation with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists and the American Physical Therapy Association. In the coming years, Ms. Schoensee plans to continue on her current path toward professional excellence.
