Brooke W. Sempel Celebrated for Deeds in Law

Ms. Sempel is commended for her achievements as a program attorney with the National Judicial College



    RENO, NV, October 30, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brooke W. Sempel has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Despite having dropped out of high school, Ms. Sempel initially set out to conclude her secondary education. Following the completion of her general education development examination, she enrolled at the University of Alaska and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Management Information Systems, in 2001.

She then moved to New York City and found success in human resources for a number of years. Ms. Sempel returned to her home state of Montana and began work as a legal assistant/paralegal for the local prosecutor's office. After displaying considerable proficiency in this field and with her supervisor's encouragement, Ms. Sempel left the county attorney's office to pursue a career in criminal law. She subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Montana in 2014.

By 2015, Ms. Sempel served as an associate attorney for Davis, Hatley, Haffeman & Tighe PC, a civil litigation firm, for a brief period. However, she left to pursue her love of criminal law, building a laudable reputation as an attorney with the Office of the State Public Defender in Montana from 2015 to 2018 while maintaining her civic responsibilities by offering pro bono services to Montana Legal Services' clients. Moving to Reno, she continued her professional ventures as the senior attorney of the Indian Law Project for Nevada Legal Services between before changing directions in 2020 to go to work for The National Judicial College, where she excels as a program attorney by developing and implementing judicial training programs, while also reporting on federal grant proposals.

Regarding her qualifications, Ms. Sempel has been admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Montana, and is a member of the American Bar Association. Additionally, as a testament to her accomplishments, while in law school, Ms. Sempel was acknowledged with two Soroptimist Fellowship Awards—both the local Hamilton, Montana Region and Northwestern Region, the Mott Miller Memorial Scholarship, and the Fran Elge Award for recognition of demonstrated commitment to human equality. Ms. Sempel is currently working on a memoir and plans to continue her judicatory edification and expand the influence of her office in the near future.
