Mr. Crompton retired from the Los Angeles Police Department in 2010

SALINAS, CA, November 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas C. Crompton has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Driven to pursue a career in public service, Mr. Crompton joined the U.S. Army in 1972, working as a counterintelligence agent for the Army's Intelligence and Security Command in various locations until the end of the 1970s. Upon his discharge from the military, he distinguished himself as a deputy sheriff for the County of Monterey, where he later became a coroner investigator in 1984. Between 2002 and 2010, he channeled his considerable expertise through his work with the Los Angeles Police Department before his retirement. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, Mr. Crompton is especially proud to have conducted quality, detailed investigations for nearly 40 years, during which he authored and edited "Coroners Division Standard Operating Procedure."

While working for the County of Monterey, Mr. Crompton earned an Associate of Arts in administration of justice from Hartnell College. He subsequently completed the advanced California police officer standards and training certificate. He has been a member of the Central California Past Master's Association since 1985. In previous years, Mr. Crompton aligned himself with the California Homicide Investigators Association, the Association of Federal Investigators, the Peace Officers Research Association of California, the Monterey County Deputy Sheriff Association and the National Counterintelligence Corps Association.

Now that he is retired, Mr. Crompton devotes himself to his community as an active member of Boy Scouts of America and the Presbyterian churches of Salinas and Los Angeles. During this time, he also contributed to those less fortunate through March of Dimes and Rainbow Girls. For his professional excellence, he was acknowledged numerous times over the years, earning features in Who's Who in the West and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. More recently, he received the Hiram Award for Lifetime Achievement through the local Masonic Fraternity in 2015 and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. Looking toward the future, Mr. Crompton intends to continue his masonic training and remain active at his church.
