WILLIAMSPORT, PA, November 05, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Ayaz M. Khan has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Growing up in a family of doctors, Dr. Khan was inspired to help people who were struggling with illnesses. He received the opportunity to study at a renowned university-affiliated medical college in India. After receiving a Doctor of Medicine from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery and worked abroad as an orthopedic surgeon. In an effort to gain better quality training, Dr. Khan then immigrated to the United States, where he completed a residency in anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and later received a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University College of Business and a Master of Public Health from the University of New England. Dr. Khan now serves as Medical Director of Medical Aesthetics & Lasers, President and Medical Director of Pain Management of Williamsport.
In his current positions, Dr. Khan specializes in pain management and addiction treatment. In his career, he has had extensive clinical experience in complex health care settings, practicing patient care with empathy, compassion and integrity. He has demonstrated much success in fostering relationships with peer physicians and other health care providers.
Dr. Khan holds certifications from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine. He is board certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, in orthopedic surgery from Medical Council of India, in quality assurance by American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians and board certified as a health care leader by prestigious American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. In addition to his primary medical duties, Dr. Khan also serves as owner and chief executive officer of the private label cosmetic company Effleurer Cosmetics, as well as an upcoming company that will be soon launched online, Effleurer Nutraceuticals. He has recently received the prestigious Certified Physician Executive certification from the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Civically, Dr. Khan serves as Governing Counselor of the American Public Health Association, Board Member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Healthcare Executive Network and Vice President of the Lycoming County Medical Society. He also previously served as a medical and public health care program volunteer with A Broader View Volunteers Corp. Over the years, he has attributed his professional success to his education in India, which motivated him to work hard throughout his career. He is also grateful for the opportunities he received in the United States.
Dr. Khan's greatest mentor in his life and career was his aunt, who was an obstetrician-gynecologist. He maintains professional affiliation with the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the American College of Hospital Executives. Looking toward the future, Dr. Khan plans to continue his endeavors in pain management and addiction medicine. He hopes to work more in public health administration and epidemiology to help fight the opioid epidemic.
