Dilip K. Paul Commended for Deeds in Engineering

Mr. Paul is celebrated for his dedication as a research engineer with the United States Naval Undersea Warfare Center



    NORTH EASTON, MA, November 12, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Since 1985, Mr. Dilip K. Paul has excelled and contributed vastly as a research engineer at the United States Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, Rhode Island. Most notably, he has played an integral role in developing digital target models for real-time computer simulations. He has also coauthored papers on digital target model verifications.

At the beginning of his career, Mr. Paul garnered invaluable experiences working in the chemical production and processing industries. He originally contributed to the startup of a large urea fertilizer factory just outside of Bangladesh's capital city, Dhaka, as a startup process engineer. These early life experiences inspired him to pursue a career as an engineer with the hopes of diversifying his professional proficiencies. With a passion for engineering and the sciences, Mr. Paul decided to further his education, with a distinct focus on chemical engineering.

As a Bangladeshi native and top student in his high school class, Mr. Paul headed to obtain a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), the oldest and most prestigious institution for the study of engineering and architecture in the country. After moving to the United States, in 1975, he earned a Master of Science in chemical engineering from Columbia University in New York City. There, Mr. Paul worked as a research engineer at Columbia University's Heat Transfer Research Laboratory led by Dr. Charles F. Bonilla, followed by a stint working as a software engineer at Chas T Main corporation in Boston. Mr. Paul continues to preserve his affiliation with the Columbia University Alumni Association.

Outside of the office, Mr. Paul is involved in community work and service. He likes photography and enjoys gardening and writing short stories and poems. A lifelong lover of birds and animals, Mr. Paul contributes regularly to the National Audubon Society and the World Wildlife Fund, United Way, among others. Looking toward the future, Mr. Paul intends to continue his current work with the United States Navy. He lives in North Easton, Massachusetts with his wife, Ashima. They are immensely proud of their two adult children, Aparna and Deepan.
