Mrs. Shepherd is a retired elementary educator with more than 30 years of expertise

BUDD LAKE, NJ, November 16, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor Deborah Gulick Shepherd with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Mrs. Shepherd celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mrs. Shepherd celebrates more than three decades of service to her students and community as an elementary-level teacher. Since coming of age, she has harbored a deep enthusiasm for education, and for understanding how multiple subjects overlap and help students create a deeper understanding of the world they live in. She holds an Associate of Arts from Centenary College and a Bachelor of Arts from Oral Roberts University, and completed a Master of Arts at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1981. Eminently qualified in her field, Mrs. Shepherd is licensed to teach students at the elementary and middle school levels, and as a K-12 school supervisor in the state of New Jersey.

Long interested in multidisciplinary education, Mrs. Shepherd specialized at the elementary level, and has contributed for much of her career as a fourth grade teacher. She began her professional journey at Sandshore Elementary in 1976, departing in 1988 to join the staff of Mountainview Elementary, where she would teach independently and as part of a grade-level team until 2001. She subsequently taught at both Chester M. Stephens Elementary and remained active as a member of the faculty until her retirement in 2009. In appreciation of her dedication to education, she was bestowed with a New Jersey Governor's Teacher Recognition Award in 1991.

Since 2014, Mrs. Shepherd has dedicated her time to service as the financial secretary of the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown, New Jersey. Likewise, she is heavily involved in the leadership of the First Presbyterian Church, acting as a Sunday School teacher and treasurer, church historian and Yarn Girls organizer, in addition to singing in the choir and editing the church newsletter. Mrs. Shepherd is also a member of the Sussex County Oratorio Society, the New Jersey Retired Educators Association, the Morris County Council of the Retired Educators Association and the National Education Association. In her leisure time, Mrs. Shepherd enjoys fiber crafts and participation in her local book club.
