Since he was 9 years old, Alex Laughlin has been interested in racing. He began karting as a child and quickly had much success in the sport with several wins and top finishes, including two national championships. When he was 15 years old, he began racing Legend cars and became very successful in that area as well. He later became interested in drag racing and was soon racing at 200 miles per hour before he even received an official driver's license. Over the years, Mr. Laughlin has also competed in truck and tractor pulling. He has developed a diverse background in motorsports and currently uses that experience in his role as president of Alex Laughlin Motorsports. He also drives the NHRA drag racing car for Havoline Oil in Pro Stock, one of the most competitive classes of motorsports.
As a driver, Mr. Laughlin recently won the World Doorslammer Nationals in Orlando, Florida. He also serves as co-owner of Speed Society and gives back to his community as a motivational speaker at various local schools. Mr. Laughlin has attributed his professional success to his partners and companies who have offered funding to help him succeed. He is also grateful to be surrounded by a team that has become a family. He maintains professional affiliation with the National Hot Rod Association and the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
