Dr. Bateh, the youngest of four children and a first-generation college student, was always encouraged that anything is possible. Her father's influential work ethic and continued strive for success as well as her mother's encouragement and support contributed to Dr. Bateh's ability to excel in anything she pursued. In addition to her strong academic performance, Dr. Bateh was also well-rounded, allowing her to have many career options.
During her youth, Dr. Bateh was an avid dancer and musician, while she also excelled academically. Her academic achievements led her to the top five of her high school class of five hundred and to earn a full academic scholarship to Jacksonville University (Florida), where she obtained both her Master of Business Administration in International Business & Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business & French in only four years. Dr. Bateh's interest in pursuing higher education did not end here, and she concluded her academic endeavors by graduating with Honors from Columbia University with a Doctor of Philosophy in International Economics in 2000.
Prior to transitioning to a career in higher education Dr. Bateh held leadership positions in the logistics and pharmaceutical industries for over fifteen years. Since 2008, Dr. Bateh has achieved excellence in higher education as an Academic Administrator and Professor of International Business & Economics at several institutions of higher education including New York University. Dr. Bateh co-founded and assumed the role as Academic Director of the New York School of Management & Technology and the Center for International Business & Trade. In these capacities, she manages curriculum development, strategic planning, and the research agenda for the school. Through her post, Dr. Bateh forged partnership agreements with such universities as UCAM (Spain) and ISM (France).
Dr. Bateh is also an active scholar at the HIT (Healthcare Information Technology) Lab at Columbia University, the editor and contributing author to several academic journals such as the European Scientific Journal. Dr. Bateh's expertise in the field of International Economics can be recognized through her authorship of articles, textbooks, and conference presentations worldwide. Her areas of expertise also include Business Strategy, Entrepreneurship. Integrated Marketing, Globalization and Organizational Behavior. In recognition of her academic excellence. Dr. Bateh was awarded the CAES Award for Learning and Development from New York University. Dr. Bateh was also chosen as the Faculty of the Year by several academic institutions.
Dr. Bateh also maintains many affiliations including the International Marketing Association. the International Management Association and the African Econometrics Society. Dr. Bateh hopes to expand the influence of her position, both domestically and internationally by helping young scholars in achieving their goals.
Dr. Bateh strongly considers the highlight of her success as a mother of two sons – Amir and Adham.
