For nearly 30 years, Mr. Bennett devoted his career to education. Having retired in 2000 from his position as a university supervisor of student teachers at Xavier University in Cincinnati, he previously distinguished himself as a talented school administrator in Frankfort, Kentucky, where he was aligned with the Kentucky Department of Education from 1993 to 1997. During this time, Mr. Bennett found success as a branch manager for various divisions in the Office of Instructional Services and a program consultant for the assessment implementation division in the Office of Assessment and Curriculum Services.

Mr. Bennett began his career as a teacher on behalf of the Job Preparation Center at the Covington Independent School District in Covington, Kentucky, in 1973. Promoted several times over the next several years, he was also an instrumental member of the District Speakers Bureau teacher advisory committee. Following this appointment, Mr. Bennett was recruited by the Walton-Verona School District in Boone County, Kentucky, as the director of pupil personnel, as well as a coordinator for special programs in 1984. He later continued his career as the assistant principal and assistant superintendent until 1993.

A focused and driven leader, Mr. Bennett bears an exemplary talent for organizational leadership, which enabled him to serve in several positions of high leadership as a volunteer on behalf of his local community. Throughout the 1970s, he chaired the Committee for School Dropouts and the Alternative School Advisory Committee, and was a member of the Juvenile Delinquency Task Force, the Kentucky Advisory Commission and the Regional Council on Substance Abuse. Likewise, he maintained involvement as a member of the Kenton County Manpower Advisory Committee and the Northern Kentucky Advisory and Resources Council for Teenage Parents. He further provided his time as a den leader for the Dan Beard Council Cub Scouts between 1986 and 1987 before serving as a cubmaster from 1987 to 1988. Additionally, Mr. Bennett was aligned as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for 10 years, beginning in 1999, where he notably worked as an academy information officer coast guard recruiter in 2001, branch chief for the department of education in 2002 and flotilla commander in 2003.

To attain his professional goals, Mr. Bennett studied at Butler University before receiving a Bachelor of Art in psychology at Thomas Moore College in 1972. Continuing his education, he completed a Master of Art in education at Xavier University in 1974. Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. Bennett is a certified teacher, guidance counselor, principal, director of pupil personnel, director of special education and superintendent in Kentucky and Ohio.

Actively engaged with various professional organizations relative to his field, Mr. Bennett has earned distinction with the Kentucky Association of Secondary School Principals in various roles, such as the president and director of special education for the northern Kentucky chapter. He is also a member of the Personnel and Guidance Association and the Kentucky Association of School Administrators. Apart from the field of education, Mr. Bennett is committed to such organizations as the Order of the Merovingian Dynasty, the Saint Andrew Society of the Low Country Scottish Ancestry and the Order of the Crown of Charlemagne in the United States of America.

Well regarded for his indelible contributions to the field, Mr. Bennett has been the recipient of numerous acknowledgments. He most recently earned the Richard Farmer Hess Award for Leadership Excellence in 2018. Additionally, Mr. Bennett received a Rotarian of the Year Award from the Van Landingham Rotary Club of Hilton Head Island in 2017 and, among other accolades, a Three-Year Anniversary Volunteer Award from Hilton Head Plantation between 2011 and 2013.
