Audrey Stillerman Celebrated as a Leader in Medicine

Dr. Stillerman has been dedicated as a health professional for nearly 30 years



    CHICAGO, IL, December 07, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Audrey Stillerman has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Raised by a teacher mother and a father who was a musician with an interest in health and nutrition, Dr. Stillerman would often discuss those topics as she was growing up. She grew interested in helping people become and stay healthy. In high school, Dr. Stillerman decided to pursue medicine as a career path.

Dr. Stillerman initially received a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Chemistry from Cornell University and a Doctor of Medicine with Honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She subsequently completed a transitional internship and a residency in Family Practice at Cook County Hospital as well as a Clinical Externship in Family Therapy at the University of Illinois Institute for Juvenile Research. Dr Stillerman began her career in the Women's Division of Cermak Health Services at the Cook County jail. She currently serves as the medical director of the University of Illinois at Chicago's Office of Community Engagement and Neighborhood Health Partnerships School Health Centers.

Certified through the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Integrative Health & Medicine and the American Board of Integrative Medicine, Dr. Stillerman has also contributed her expertise as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Civically, she has provided integrative medicine for underserved communities and flourished on several committees and commissions throughout Chicago. Dr. Stillerman maintains her professional affiliation with Trauma Informed Healthcare Education & Research, the Illinois ACEs Response Collaborative, the American Academy of Family Practice, Physicians for a National Health Program, Integrative Medicine for the Underserved and the Neurosequential Network.

For her contributions to her field, Dr. Stillerman was most recently listed among 50 Notable Women in Healthcare 2020 by Crain's Chicago Business. She was also nominated for the University of Illinois Health Physician of the Year Award in 2017. She additionally accepted the Community Spirit Award from the Chicago Department of Public Health in 2016. Throughout her career, she has attributed her success to her commitment to her work, her willingness to collaborate with colleagues and her connection with her patients. Looking toward the future, Dr. Stillerman hopes to educate health professionals and the public on the profound impact of childhood experiences on health and how to prevent and treat adversity so patients can thrive.
