Mr. Thompson is an entrepreneur and small business owner providing notary to the McLennan County, Texas, community for more than three decades. After completing coursework at Lubbock Christian College (now known as Lubbock Christian University), he began working in restaurant and hotel management in Wyoming, Colorado and Texas. After several years he moved into management of a local convenience store in Odessa, Texas. Local economic downturns in the late 1980s led Mr. Thompson to explore opportunities for business ownership, and in 1989, he purchased the Pack & Mail Shipping Center, the first retail shipping outlet in Waco.
In addition to operating the Pack & Mail, Mr. Thompson became a certified notary public and offers notarial services to in addition to packaging and shipping services. Mr. Thompson sold his Pack & Mail business in 2014 and became a full-time notary signing agent. He is proud to offer a valuable service to local businesses and residents, and credits his success to his integrity, consistency and ability to serve an untapped market niche. Mr. Thompson is an active member of the National Notary Association and Toastmasters International, where he is a distinguished Toastmaster.
When not running his business, Mr. Thompson can often be found singing in choruses and barbershop quartets. He is a performer and secretary in the choral group The Vocal Majority, based in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Thompson is a certified judge for the Barbershop Harmony Society judging competitions around the country. His passion for music began with singing in church, and he has been involved in musical performances since high school. Mr. Thompson has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for more than 20 years. With The Vocal Majority, Mr. Thompson has been winning awards and traveling internationally for showcases. Mr. Thompson looks forward to many more years of operating his business with an eye toward growth, as well as touching the lives of others through music and performance.
