Diana Miskill Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    ORR'S ISLAND, ME, December 11, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ms. Miskill with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Miskill celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. For over 40 years, Ms. Miskill excelled as a veteran and a civilian volunteer. Her Navy career began in 1970 serving on active duty in Fighter Squadron 101 at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her next duty station was Human Resources in Norfolk, Virginia. She left active duty in 1976 as a Lieutenant and joined the Naval Reserve. Over the next 15 years, she served in multiple Reserve units stationed in Virginia, Maine, and Massachusetts. During this time, she was promoted to Commander and retired in 1993.

Concurrent with her military duties, Ms. Miskill volunteered much of her time and energy in the local community in Brunswick, Maine. She was very active with the Mid Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross, chairing the advisory committee for the Naval Air Station Brunswick, working local blood drives, and being a member of the Red Cross Chapter Board of Directors. She eventually accepted the position of Director of Development for the Chapter for a year. As a member of the Board, she co-chaired two highly successful annual Red Cross Balls. During the period from 1992-1994, she served as the senior advisor to the Base commanding officer at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily.

From 1995-1998, Ms. Miskill was hired by Mid Coast Health Services in Brunswick as the public information specialist. She was responsible for newsletters, advertisements, materials for their monthly TV show, and assisting all hospital departments with their graphic design needs.

Other noteworthy activities include: monthly preparing meals for a local homeless shelter for over 20 years, serving as administrative assistant for a summer swim program for eight years, providing graphic design services to her town recreation department for several years, and producing newsletters for the Merrymeeting Audubon Chapter, on which she also serves on the Board of Directors, and the Orr's Island Library.

In recognition of her accomplishments, she was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for her work at an international intelligence conference; and the Clara Barton Honor Award for Meritorious Volunteer Leader from the American Red Cross. Likewise, Ms. Miskill has been featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.

Ms. Miskill initially pursued studies at Marymount Junior College in Arlington, Virginia from 1966-67. She then transferred to Adelphi University in Garden City, New York where she completed her education with a B.A. in Sociology in 1970. She currently maintains affiliations with the Association of the United States Navy, the National Organization of Women, the League of Women Voters, Maine Audubon, the World Wildlife Fund, Autism Speaks, and National Parks Conservation Association.
