A seasoned expert in quality inspection, lean manufacturing, aircraft manufacturing and management, Mr. Tillman excelled in the aircraft and manufacturing industry for nearly 35 years, retiring from his role as executive director of operations for Boeing 737 with Spirit AeroSystems in 2019. In a career filled with highlights, it is difficult to pick one that stands out among the rest. However, he is especially proud of outperforming goals on a consistent basis. He started in the field as a mechanic and escalated to the ranks of product line manager, electrician, quality inspection expert and executive director. He initially joined Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Kansas, in 1987.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Tillman studied engineering and business management at Wichita State University. Alongside his professional endeavors, he has given back to his community as a boys' basketball coach for 10 years, a donor to the local food bank, and a volunteer with the local chapters of the United Way and The Salvation Army.
In light of his outstanding body of work, Mr. Tillman has been honored on several occasions, earning a Performance Excellence Award in 2017, as well as a Corporate Standout Award through The Community Voice in 2016. As a corporate standout, he was recognized for excellence in Wichita's corporate environment. Looking toward the future, Mr. Tillman intends to parlay his expertise into consulting.
