Growing up in an area of Los Angeles marked by frequent gun violence and police activity, Mr. Nakase dreamed of a career that would allow him to effect positive change in his community.
After completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of California, Mr. Nakase earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Case Western Reserve School of Law in 2004. Throughout his career, he has been active in pro bono legal initiatives, providing counsel through the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program and the Legal Aid Society. Mr. Nakase's philosophy of practice is influenced by his work representing indigent and low-income clients, and he believes strongly in servant leadership, mentoring and mutual aid.
