BEVERLY HILLS, CA, December 18, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Julian A. Gold, M.D. has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Although he initially intended on studying physics, Dr. Gold eventually decided that his skill set would be better suited for biology. He subsequently attained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the City College of New York and a Doctor of Medicine from the New York University School of Medicine. Garnering his board certification as an anesthesiologist, Dr. Gold began his career at NYU and Bellevue Hospitals in NYC, moved to California and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 1982 and was subsequently appointed as an associate professor of clinical anesthesiology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.
In 1991 Dr. Gold was appointed co-chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles, a position he held until 2019. Dr. Gold has also served as a 10 year Councilmember and two term Mayor of the City of Beverly Hills, a tenure that he considers among his proudest accomplishments. During his first term, he notably developed a committee to engage with the younger generation that expanded from 12 to over 100 people and created important leadership opportunities for the next generation. Dr. Gold currently serves as a consultant for the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator.
Dr. Gold is also proud of his wife of over 30 years, Michele, and their wonderful daughter, Rebecca. In his community, he has been directly involved with the Beverly Hills Little League, the Recreation and Parks Commission and the Board of Directors of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He has attributed his professional success to his resilience. Looking toward the future, Dr. Gold plans to remain active on his current successful path.
