Mr. Lum is an esteemed physician assistant celebrating more than 35 years of diverse practice in rheumatology, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. A caring and devoted practitioner, he was initially drawn to medicine as a way to better serve others. Moreover, Mr. Lum is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University's physician assistant training program, and holds additional certifications in respiratory therapy and surgical technology.
Mr. Lum's career began with the Baptist Medical Center of Jacksonville, Florida, with which he practiced for a year before accepting a position as a provider for Correctional Medical Systems Inc. From 1992 until 1996, he was active as a physician assistant at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, departing to focus on specialist care with the Vein Treatment Center and the Arthritis Center of Connecticut. Since 2003, Mr. Lum has been affiliated with Danbury Internal Medicine Associates and the Waterbury Hospital, in addition to his efforts as a consultant for Advanced Diagnostic Pain Treatment Centers in New Haven, Connecticut.
A member of the Society of Physician Assistants in Rheumatology, the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Mr. Lum draws on his cross-disciplinary expertise in several medical specialties as a consultant for Pfizer. Beyond his primary responsibilities, he enjoys photography, volunteering with regional animal rescues and distance running, having notably ran the 2018 New York Road Runners Half Marathon. Mr. Lum looks forward to continuing his career in medicine for as long as he is able, garnering more knowledge in order to better care for his patients.
