A leader in his community, Rev. Brooks has excelled as a pastor at the First Pentecostal Church in South Beloit for more than 40 years. In this role, he prepares Bible studies and sermons, visits parishioners in the hospital, offers marriage counseling and tends to the needs of the congregation. Rev. Brooks became involved in his profession due to his family's roots in religious services; both of his grandfathers were pastors as well as his father.

Notably, the First Pentecostal Church in South Beloit was founded by Rev. Brook's father, Rev. Joseph T. Brooks, in 1931. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, he pursued an education at the American Bible School in Chicago, from which he obtained a theology diploma. Notably, Rev. Brooks was ordained in Pana, Illinois in 1963.
